Fyfedene (Imp)
GREY DUN 14HH IMPORTED SCOTTISH HIGHLAND PONY STALLION
Registered HPS Scotland & APSB
Shown successfully in Scotland
Sire: Falcon Frost of Salichrie
Dam: Salinadene
Sadly Fyfedene was put to rest at the Ballinton Dene Stud in Tamworth NSW in early February 2013.
He was the first to win both the ridden and the in hand at the Royal Highland Show in Scotland in over 30 yrs, also taking out the Cuddy's and the NPS Silver Medal in the same year, which no other horse has achieved.
However, although he has earnt many great achievements in his life, both in the UK and Australia, the Dene stud particularily want to remember him for his wonderful nature.
Mhairi, as a little girl often went and had talks with him in his stable, he was a great listener; as an 11yr old she used to have lessons on him, and as a teenager she used to ride him on the beach, an activity which he absolutely loved, jumping boldly into the waves, sometimes too boldly!
The Dene family would like to say a special thank you to Barbara McVean for all of her hard work and her passion for Fyfe and also to Karen and Jahnae Parish for their hard work whilst he was in Australia.
It goes without saying that Fyfe has left an impact on the Highland Pony world .

He twice won the Buckskin Performance Award and was runnerup twice. He won the Partbred Highland Pony High Point Award 8 times and was runner up 3 times.
He had a wonderful temperament, was very smart and just a 1 in a million horse.

Monty had a very successful show career both in hand and under saddle, but his forte was as, an all round mount, achieving many great results in Dressage, Showjumping, Games and Horse Trails. He started HRCAV Dressage in level 4 and quickly pointed up to level 1. He loved to jump and was a winner at many HRCAV TTT events.
In his retirement he was a brilliant baby sitter for numerous young highlands and partbreds, even a few of our Warmbloods. He loved his job.
He was buried at Croftcnoc Stud in his favourite paddock, by the creek
